Study Day IV

Practical Participation and
advice on Traditional Upholstery, using tacks, natural fibres
and hand stitching of interior stuffing and final finishing.
This
study day covers the correct materials and procedures
used in traditional re-upholstery and conservation of
an upholstered seat. Like Study Days II and III, guests
bring a small, structurally sound item of upholstered
furniture such as a chair or stool, which preferably
has a timber frame in good order.
Guests will
work on their piece under the supervision of our professional
craftsmen, who will advise guests how to identify specific
materials and instruct them how to sympathetically conserve
or re-upholster in the traditional manner.
The single
day event costs £75.00
per person and includes lunch and refreshments.
