Don't you wish you'd been bought one as a child?

We set about developing ideas and put forward a Memory Box designed to resemble an old fashioned envelope. The theme reinforced the idea that the box was designed to house important documents that related to the child's life - both childhood and adulthood.

The style of the box is contemporary, even though it is traditional in construction and use of material. Wheathills' Cabinet Makers constructed the Memory Box from a light-coloured Birch with overlaid veneers of Macassa Ebony; these are quartered on the diagonal to give the appearance of an old envelope. The lid is personalized with a silver mounted cartouche bearing the child's initials and positioned off-centre and is designed to represent the old seal used on documents.
The interior has been individualized and upholstered using a carefully chosen fabric with hand made handles and fittings in silver gilt and the cartouche in solid hall- marked sterling silver.
The exterior has been traditionally finished by our French Polishers.
