A contemporary design
piece blending modern materials for the supports and
traditional English Oak for the table top and feet.
The top of three beautifully grained planks form the
top, having chamfered edges and stopped chamfers to
the corners, punctuated with inlays of circular Walnut
detail.
The solid Oak drawer is fitted to a Walnut box beneath
the top which is featured with circular fret work.
The top is supported
by varying sized stainless steel pipes, jointed to a
deep arch foot of solid Oak, chamfered and stop chamfered
following the top detail.
Once created the timber
was lightly prepared by hand with wooden block planes
for an authentic texture, smoothed with a Cabinet Scraper,
fumed to create a rich nut brown natural shade, and
then finished with an oil and beeswax composition.
