The client's brief for
this commission for a coffee table was to produce a
piece of handmade furniture that would be both practical
and create a beautiful centre piece for their room to
blend with their existing furniture.
The piece was created
in celebration of a major wedding anniversary and is
a blend of contemporary and traditional styles influenced
by 18th Century design.
A Walnut Coffee Table
in oval form having an open fan of Satinwood, Ebony
and Amboyna; the fan is inlaid to the centre of the
table and is flanked by crossbanding of Satinwood, strung
in Ebony and finished to a delicately moulded edge.
Below is a simple stretcher with cockbead moulding,
jointed to four outsplayed cabriole legs with carved
knees.
All of our bespoke furniture
is 100% handmade by Wheathills craftsmen,the coffee
table was created by the Cabinet Makers and finished
by the traditional French Polishers.
