Faithful
Copies

Producing
faithful copies is the ideal way to complete a set of
chairs or produce a piece that complements an existing
collection or a period setting. Whatever the reason,
each copy is carefully constructed using exactly the
same methods as the original and in many cases uses
original antique timbers chosen specially to match in
every way, particularly in the most visible areas where
it matters most.
The process requires all the skill of
an experienced cabinet maker, using the original to produce
a pattern of each component to form a cutting board. The
design of each of these components is carefully transferred
to the selected timber before being cut, shaped and assembled
in the traditional manner using reversible glues. Finally
the item is colour-matched with an appropriate level of
distressing to make the faithful copy appear just like
the original.
