Conservation
& Restoration of Antiques and Period Properties

Wheathills,
Derbyshire, is committed to protecting our heritage
and specialises in using traditional materials and methods
of Cabinet Making, French Polishing and Upholstery.
Wheathills are experts in the restoration and conservation
of antiques, antique furniture, period property interiors
and the construction of bespoke handmade furniture.
Upon contacting Wheathills to request
a quotation for restoring a piece of furniture we will
arrange a mutually acceptable time for the proprietor,
Nigel Heldreich, to visit and inspect the piece to be
conserved or restored.
A full inspection of the item(s) will take place and
the customer will be provided with a verbal assessment
of the restoration/conservation work required and the
cost. This will be followed up a day or so later with
a full written quotation and schedule of works required.
It is left to the client whether the work is taken up
or not.
The same procedure would be followed
for conserving or restoring Period Property interiors.
What is the difference between Restoration
and Conservation?
Restoration is returning the antique
or period property interior back to how it was originally;
Conservation is retaining or securing what is already
there
